Brooklyn Popcorn had an opportunity to show our fellow New Yorkers, and thousands of other music and film lovers, what it means to have a good time – and cut a mean rug.
New Yorkers had the chance to enjoy great food, film and music at the 2nd Annual CBGB Music & Film Festival in New York City in October 9-13th, 2013. It’s an event that’s sure to stay around for many more years; so, if we didn’t see you out there this year hopefully we’ll get a chance to groove together next year!
Thousands of people showed up to enjoy over 700 musical guests - bands, DJs and other music talents spread out among 150 different locations through Manhattan and Brooklyn, New York. And, in the center of it all? Literally? Brooklyn Popcorn, of course. If you were there and made your way to our truck amidst all the fun and events, then you know it was a day filled with fantastic music, food and an atmosphere that left many wanting to set up camp right there and never go home. And, while we excitedly worked to fill the bellies of thousands of music lovers with our sensational gourmet popcorn flavors, we also had our share of head nodding, toe tapping and hip swaying while listening to the immense variety of musical guests.
CBGB Music and Film Festival event-goers young, old and every age in-between, had their choice of Classic Cheddar, Spicy Jalapeño, Caramel or our NEW Brooklyn Mix (Chocolate and White Cheddar) gourmet popcorn. It was a knockout success! We received lots of great compliments, many return customers and we just have to say, it just felt like we were all one big happy family. Of course, what else would you expect while in New York?
We can’t wait to share our other new flavors with our customers – like Dill Pickle, Chocolate, our New York Mix (Caramel & White Cheddar), Spicy Cajun and the well-known Chicago Mix (Classic Cheddar & Caramel). We hope to see you out and about the streets of New York to munch on our gourmet delights and show some popcorn love!
About CBGB
Founded in 1973 in Manhattan, CBGB (Country, Blue Grass and Blues) was originally a club where people would go to enjoy different genres of music that weren’t so “mainstream” at the time and have a some fun. Over the years, to the amazement and pleasure of its founder, its scope would change and the CBGB would grow into an environment where alternative music, such as new wave style, punk music and other street music, would flourish. Bands like The Talking Heads, Blondie and the Ramones are just a few of the well-known talents that got their start right at the CBGB. CBGB continues to wow the minds of its patrons with new talent and an appreciation for the art of real music making. (Next year’s event is already scheduled for October 7 – 12, 2014).
